Quartz

Quartz is a man made material. The process involves mixing natural stone - crushed marble, granite or quartz usually with silica and polyester resin. 90% of this mixture is natural stone and once the mixture has been made, it can be poured into moulds to produce slabs that can in turn be cut and used for work/table tops.

An advantage of using quartz is a feature associated with its man made quality. The consistency of background colour can be guaranteed and adapted accordingly because of the ability to control the colour of the resin, therefore each slab will be of a consistent colouring - this is useful when covering all 4 walls of a large bathroom as they should all be of uniform colour.

This also allows for an array of colour choice, making it a high contender for many a work/table/wall.
